Rachel has been playing recorders and the oboe since primary school, and
first tried the crumhorn in her teens.
Many years later she was persuaded
by Simon to try the curtal, shawm and sordune as well, and now thinks the
sordune is the best thing since sliced bread. She also enjoys singing,
and volunteering at the Holst Museum.
Barbara trained as a teacher and worked for most of her career in PrimaryEducation, eventually serving as headteacher in Berkshire and then in
Worcestershire.
She is an enthusiastic amateur musician, and played and
called at folk dances for many years throughout Berkshire and
Worcestershire. She plays recorders and flute with the Gloucester Waites.
