In May 2018 the Waites took part in the 8th Biennial Festival of the International Guild of Town Pipers, held in Kings Lynn. The city is an ancient port, and the Festival formed part of the Hanse Festival, which commemorates the town's historic association with the medieval Hanse League.

Our hosts the Kings Lynn Waits were joined by the Stadspijpers van 's-Hertogenbosch  from the Netherlands tohether with many Waits bands, invluding Colchester, Doncaster, Gloucester, Leeds, Worcester and York and the shawm band Blondel.

The sun shone for us on a memorable weekend, and our thanks go to tKings Lynnfor their excellent organisation and hospitality.
